Exploring the causes of increasing mortality
Deaths in the UK have risen by 40,000 per year since 2011. Why?
Jan 11th 2017

2020 Delivery has published analysis on the nature and causes of the 40,000 increase in annual UK deaths since 2011. The analysis shows that the increase is statistically significant, has been sustained over 5 years, and cannot be explained as being caused solely by the UK’s growing and ageing population.

The document presents initial work on potential causes of the increase – we are appealing to other organisations to provide feedback on the work done so far, and to work with us on the next stage of analysing causes.
