In this article, we describe a case study project where consultants from 2020 Delivery used Lean principles in one hospital to reduce the length of a referral-to-diagnosis pathway by 75% whilst also supporting improvements in clinical quality and patient experience. Based on the success of this project, the hospital rolled the approach out across a number of other service lines.
