Caroline Cake is a Non-Executive Director at 2020 Delivery.
She is Chief Operating Officer at Health Data Research UK (HDRUK). In this role she co-ordinates effective collaborations between the government, the NHS, academia and industries across the UK. She is at the forefront of establishing HDRUK as a world-class institute that harnesses revolutionary technology and data science to transform lives of patients and populations.
With more than 20 years of experience working in public service and commercial organisations, Caroline has obtained a unique and deep understanding of important trends of research, innovation, commercialisation and transformational change as applied to health policy and clinical practice, both in the UK and internationally. In her consulting career with 2020 Delivery she has advised health organisations, universities and central government departments on strategy, transformation, capability building, and delivery planning.
As a Chartered Engineer with operational experience in the Electronics and Chemical Industries, she was the first woman to be awarded overall national winner of the Young Engineer for Britain Award.
Caroline holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was a Sainsbury Management Fellow, and a Master of Engineering from the University of Cambridge, where she was awarded the Royal Academy of Engineering New Graduate Prize. Caroline has also worked in Europe and the USA.
