David Legg works with health systems to formulate strategies to transform outcomes and performance, facilitate agreement between partners and plan for successful delivery. He brings over a decade of experience in healthcare, supporting both commissioners and providers to transform physical and mental health services.

David’s approach is founded upon creating the environment to build trust and embedding new partnership ways of working through supporting structures. His clients seek his support to develop clinically meaningful strategies that deliver across health outcomes, care quality and sustainability. He combines user-centred design methodologies with advanced analytics and modelling to ensure that solutions deliver and that implications of strategic decisions are understood.

David has helped Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships to maximise the value delivered to local populations of up to 1.7 million using available funding envelopes of up to £4bn. He has supported the development of governance and PMO structures, system-wide clinical strategy, and enabling strategies in finance, estates and workforce. He brings expertise in strategic scenario modelling techniques to support planning for delivery.

David has also supported NHS trusts on their journey to financial sustainability, cancer centres to develop capital strategies through modelling future demand scenarios and Academic Health Science Centres to develop models for clinical academic collaboration. David has experience working across health care settings and in collaboration with Local Authorities to integrate care.

Within 2020 Delivery, David plays a lead role in our people strategy, ensuring that the company provides an outstanding development offer and an environment that enables success.

Prior to joining 2020 Delivery, David worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Carefusion where he gained experience in Lean Six Sigma Quality Improvement methods.

David has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath.
