Katie Burns specialises in delivering strategic projects across the public sector, with expertise in bringing user-centred design and creative approaches. She gets to the crux of user need and puts this at the centre of her work.

At 2020 Delivery, Katie has worked on developing a user-centred procurement strategy for a large central government department. She also produced a five-year oncology workforce strategy, using the first treatment-based resourcing model in the sector. She has supported many other projects, including hospital trust transformation, and digital innovation within a London housing association – which included creative facilitation and generating digital assets. She has also worked to improve mind and body health integration, through developing the commercialisation case for a mental health app and accompanying treatment programme.

Katie previously worked for a global insights company – involving consumer behaviour and political attitudes research. She has also worked in innovation for a leading UK children’s charity. Katie has developed business cases for a number of successful innovation pilots within the third sector, using a rapid prototype methodology to ensure user-led and lean product development.

Katie has a first class degree in Politics, Psychology and Sociology from the University of Cambridge, and a Foundation Degree in the Creative Arts.
